Purchasing a Headset
There are many brands of microphone-equipped headsets designed for computer use (not cell phones). They are stock items at a majority of consumer electronics stores around the world. Make sure that the headset you purchase incorporates the use of noise-canceling microphone technology. Noise-canceling refers microphone technology that virtually eliminates the transmission of background noise. This inexpensive option can greatly enhance the sound quality of your headset.
Also, we suggest that you purchase a headset with headset/microphone jack plugs and not a USB connector. Headsets with USB connectors will work fine with IDEAL Conference®, however, in many instances USB headsets preclude you from being able to use the microphone portion of the headset and your PC speakers at the same time. You may wish to do this if more than one person is participating in an IDEAL Conference® session using your PC or, if you projecting the screen of your PC onto a screen for an audience of people to view.
