Why does the microphone volume on my Vista system change by itself sometimes?

• Don't permit Skype to adjust your sound device settings! Use follow the instructions below to disable Skype's Automatic Gain Control (AGC):

• First: SKYPE-->Tools-->Options-->Sound Devices-->(untick) Let Skype adjust my sound device settings-->Save.
